No victim of abuse - however distressed - should be given up upon as "incurable”.2. The terms "Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder" and "Dissociative Identity Disorder" should be recognised as valid conditions and included in the DSM V3. Adult sufferers of the long term consequences of childhood trauma should not have to battle the NHS for services.4. Abuse specific knowledge should be mandatory for all those who work with adult survivors of abuse.5. Patients suffering from legitimate responses to severe trauma should not be mis-labelled as suffering from incurable Personality Disorders.This site calls for a reform of the mental health sytem and offers survivors a space to share thier own stories.
