Pyschiatrically injured not inherently flawed
An examination of the way current
psychiatric diagnosis and practice causes further emotional damage
to victims of abuse rather than helps.
Society that blames the
Victim
When treatment fails, rather than
questioning the levels of training or appropriateness of certain
therapies there is a tendency to blame the
victim.
Who does the structure serve?...
An examination of why the
structure remains as iy does and who really benefits from witholding
treatment and support to victims of severe trauma.
Apparent Competence
Services are often witheld from
patients on the grounds of apparent "good coping strategies" or
"competence" and diverted to the more visbily needy patients.
Being told you are coping just fine
when in fact a person is severely suicidal is an invalidating
experience which mirrors
abuse.
